Frequently Asked Questions
I've Successfully completed a training programme. Do I still need to license?
YES - Most Provinces (with the exception of Nunavut, Northwest Territories and the Yukon) regulate emergency health workers. In order to practice you will need to be licensed.
I'm licensed in another province, will I need to license again in a different province?
Yes - You are required to be licensed in each province you work. Most provinces will issue you with an equivalent license, but some may restrict your license until you have complete additional training to make up any gaps.
Do I have to train in the province I want to work?
No - Each province provides a list of approved / acceptable training organisations providing your training organization is on that list you are good to go.
My training organization is not on the list, will I have to retrain?
Not necessarily. You will need to contact the provincial regulator, most have a system in place for assessing prior learning and assigning equivalency.
Does my tutorial need to be face to face?
No. It depends on what you want help with, Knowledge based issues can be addressed with a phone tutorial. We cannot demonstrate spinal immobilization over the phone!
Can I get my EMR or PCP training with you?
No, we do not provide full courses for EMR or PCP. We only provide tutorials for students who are currently on courses for EMR/PCP or already have their certificates and are attempting licensing. We will provide a list of links of where these courses are available (coming soon).
